Norway Chess Open - June Edition

Norway Chess Open 2026 includes two Open tournaments — with the June Edition taking place from 1–7 June 2026 in Oslo.

Details

Rounds

7 rounds Swiss tournament in 7 days, no double rounds. All players in one group.

Time control

90 minutes for the entire game with a 30 second increment from move 1.

Start time

All rounds start at 10:00am (CET).

Default Time

The default time is 1 hour, after which the player loses the game.

Playing Venue

All the games will be played at The Good Knight in the centre of Oslo.

Registration

Registration will be done on the Tournament Service website.

Start fee

The start fee is 990 NOK / €90.
Start fee must be paid within May 6th. to conform participation.
Payment after May 6th: Start fee increased with 10€ / 100 NOK

3. 3.500 NOK
Best female: 2.500 NOK

Rating Prizes

u2000: 2.500 NOK
u1800: 2.500 NOK
u1600: 2.500 NOK
65+: 2.500 NOK
Book prizes to no. 2 and 3 in each rating category.

There are currently no deals in place, but the official Norway Chess Hotel is Thon Hotel Opera

Players that have paid but are unable to attend, will get a full refund if they let the organizer know no later than the 24th of May.
If you let us know no later than the 30th of May, you will get 50% refund. 

Please be advised that players with Russian or Belarusian citizienship are not allowed to play in tournaments in Norway.

The playing venue is The Good Knight in the very centre of downtown Oslo.

Norway Chess Open takes place at The Good Knight, in the middle of Oslo, and within walking distance of everything in Oslo. Just 10 minutes walk to Deichman Bjørvika where the main Norway Chess tournament will be played.
